Eni Arnica 68
A low-zinc ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil for high-pressure systems
Eni Arnica 68 is an anti-wear hydraulic oil for modern industrial and mobile hydraulic systems running at high pressure. It is built on carefully selected base oils with low-zinc additive technology, which gives good thermal stability and resistance to oxidation and ageing.
With a viscosity index of 148 the oil copes with cold starts as well as high operating temperatures, so it is a sound choice for marine use and for industrial machines that are sensitive to temperature swings.
Where it fits
- High-pressure hydraulic circuits, outdoors (marine, mobile equipment) or indoors
- Systems with fine filtration down to 3 microns
- Installations where temperatures vary widely
Properties
- Protects pumps and components against wear, with long oxidation life for extended drain intervals
- Releases air quickly, which limits cavitation and aeration, and separates water and foam well
- Compatible with the metals normally found in hydraulic systems
- Clear appearance, density 883 kg/m³ at 15 °C, 68.0 mm²/s at 40 °C
- Flash point (COC) 222 °C, pour point -33 °C, demulsibility 15 min at 54 °C, cleanliness ISO 4406 19/17/15

Builders: Rexroth (document RD 90220-01, edition 12.10), Denison (levels HF-2, HF-1 and HF-0), Eaton Vickers (M-2950-S and I-286-S), Fives Cincinnati (P-69), Sauer Danfoss (520L0463), Danieli (standard 0.000.001 rev. 15) and Linde.
Choosing the right oil
Use this grade where the system builder asks for ISO VG 68 HV hydraulic oil. Check the exact approval in the machine manual and flush or drain thoroughly before a changeover.
