Kroon Oil Classic Gear MP 90

Multi-purpose hypoid SAE 90 gear oil for classic gearboxes and differentials

Kroon-Oil Classic Gear MP 90 is a mineral SAE 90 gear oil at API GL-5 level, intended for the manual gearboxes, differentials and other transmissions of classic vehicles.

It is a hypoid, single-grade oil. It is available in 1 L and 60 L packs.

Choosing the right oil

Reach for MP 90 when the manual of an older car asks for a hypoid GL-5 single-grade oil, typically for the rear axle. It is not a limited-slip formulation, so for a limited-slip differential look at Classic Gear LS 90 instead.

Be careful with GL-5 oil in manual gearboxes. Some older gearboxes were designed for GL-4 and the additive package in GL-5 oils may not be wanted around yellow-metal synchromesh parts. When the book says GL-4, choose EP 80 or EP 90 from the same line.

For clubs and workshops with several cars on the same axle spec, the 60 L drum avoids repeated small-tin purchases.
