Kroon-Oil Gearlube GL-5 80W-90

A mineral GL-5 80W-90 gear oil for heavily loaded gearboxes and axles

Kroon-Oil Gearlube (GL-5, grade 80W-90) is a mineral gear oil made from solvent-refined base oils and fortified with extreme-pressure additives. These additives protect heavily loaded gear sets, including hypoid gears.

The oil resists oxidation, rust and corrosion and limits foaming. Its low pour point and strong EP performance make it a fit for transmissions and axles where a GL-5 oil is prescribed.

• Military MIL-L-2105D and API GL-5

Choosing the right oil

Choose it when the handbook or axle plate asks for a GL-5 oil in 80W-90. A gearbox with yellow-metal synchromesh parts that was designed for GL-4 can react badly to GL-5 additives, so check the requirement first. Never swap between viscosity grades just because the specification letters match. For a mixed workshop range, label drums by grade and API level so a GL-4 and a GL-5 oil are never confused at the pump.
